Gun Barrel Cleaning & Management Systems

DESCRIPTION OF GUN BARREL CLEANING SYSTEM
Operation
The MicroMet Gun Barrel Cleaning System is based on a scientifically developed principal of Hydraulics. An appropriate brush is attached to the driving head, which is operated by low pressure air (100~120 psi at 25cfm) – The resultant 2,400 energy pulses drive the brush along the gun barrel bore. Travel of the Cleaning Head is controlled by a specially designed control valve and the air is delivered by a filtered lubrication unit. On reaching the end of the barrel the direction of travel of the Cleaning Head is automatically reversed and the brush is now powered back towards the operator.

This cleaning cycle is repeated until the desired result is achieved. The Barrel can be cleaned from either the breech or muzzle end of the barrel. All system parts are connected by specially designed quick release couplings and no hand tools are required to change parts or brushes. Minimal operator training is required. For compressed air any static or mobile compressor can be used. A common source for compressed air is also the tank of a 5-Ton military Truck. Systems can be supplied with suitable adaptors to allow connection to a range of sources of compressed air.
The MicroMet gun barrel cleaning system averages about one minute for a double pass through a barrel. The pulsating drive of the Cleaning Head is more effective at removing deposits from a barrel than any manual system. Very little maintenance is required for the MicroMet Bore Cleaning System and it is a most cost effective aid to effective barrel management.
